Barbara Agreste’s Bio & CV

Biography:                                                                                                          

Barbara Agreste was born in Pescara, fond of drawing since very early in her life, she trained at the art school in her city. At the age of 18 she moved in Milan to attend a course in design and painting of Theatrical Scenery in Brera Academy. At the age of 23 she moved in London where she studied contemporary dance, and soon begun working as a performer with two dance theatre companies. After her experience with theatre and live performance, in 1996 Barbara returned to devote herself to the visual arts enrolling in Kent Institute of Art & Design where she learned the techniques of Film & Video Production and where she deepened her knowledge of psychoanalysis, gender studies, and film theory. Barbara graduated in Visual Communication in July 2000 with First Class Honours, and in 2004 was awarded a Masters degree in Fine Art at Central St. Martins College of Art & Design (University of the Arts, London). Since then Barbara has continued producing film, photographs, and paintings, exhibiting and attending film festivals all around the world. Barbara lives and works in London although her visits to Italy are very frequent.
